And Baby Makes Three

Who would have thought that I would be sitting on my couch with a baby sleeping on my lap, blogging from my phone in my pjs (it's 2pm)? Not me! I mean, I knew this was how it was going to be but I was in denial for a long time!

Sawyer was born the day before we were scheduled to induce, allowing for a drug free experience. He did me a solid by coming on his own! Early labor was long and quite fun. Hard labor, transition and delivery were a blur-occurring in less than 2.5 hours.

In the end, I was healthy, baby was healthy and the hubby was proud and enamored with his son.

6 weeks later and sometimes it feels like yesterday and others a lifetime ago. I love being a mommy, but it doesn't come without exhaustion, frustration, feelings of being overwhelmed and sometimes helpless. With that said I have only cried twice! Most days are filled with diapers, laundry, feedings, smiles, coos, nursery rhymes, lullabies and wonderment.

While the hubby and I have not found time to do you know what, we somehow feel closer than ever. Sawyer has brought us together on a level never imagined. We are a team and a damn good one at that!

We still have a lot to learn- and I am happy to do that from the couch in my pjs while playing and loving my baby. Showers and social outings are overrated anyway . . . Sort of ;)
